Absolute Poker is one of the largest US-friendly poker sites and is growing every day. A combination of a large deposit bonus, frequent reload bonuses and a wide selection of games makes Absolute Poker a strong choice for both serious and casual players alike. Additionally, Absolute Poker long ago reached that critical point where the player base is large enough to keep games running and continually attract new players.
Absolute Poker Deposit Bonus
Absolute Poker is currently giving away a large sign up bonus to all new players. If you sign up with the Absolute Poker referral code, you’ll be given a 150% bonus for up to $500 extra. After you type in this referral code and make a deposit, your first deposit will be matched at a 150% rate. For example, if you deposit $200, Absolute Poker will give you $300 extra.
The bonus money is released in $5.00 increments as you play in real money ring games and tournaments. For every 20 Status Points you earn while playing at Absolute Poker, $1.00 of your bonus money is considered cleared. The more you play, the faster your bonus is released.
Absolute Poker Game Selection
Absolute Poker has enough players that it can offer a wide selection of games and you can actually find players at those tables. The most popular game at Absolute Poker is Texas Holdem but the full list of games includes:
·Texas Holdem
·Omaha
·Omaha Hi-Lo
·7 Card Stud
·7 Card Stud Hi-Lo
·Razz
·HORSE
·HOSE
These game types come in the formats of fixed limit, no limit and pot limit and they can be played as cash games, single table tournaments and multi-table tournaments. Basically every major game is covered in full at Absolute Poker.
The fixed limit stakes at Absolute Poker range from $0.02/$0.04 and go up to $500/$1,000. No limit starts out at $0.01/$0.02 ($2.00 buyin) and goes all the way up to $200/$400 ($40,000 buyin).
Absolute Poker Tournaments
Absolute Poker has made big improvements in its tournament lineup in recent years. In fact, Absolute Poker recently announced its new $500K Guaranteed weekends. In this new promotion, Absolute Poker holds a series of tournaments with a combined total of $500,000 in guaranteed prizes. That doesn’t even count all the other, non-guaranteed tournaments that Absolute Poker hosts each weekend.
The biggest weekly tournament at Absolute Poker is the Sunday $200K Guaranteed. No matter how many players enter, this tournament is always guaranteed to have at least $200,000 up for grabs. With a first place prize of more than $40,000, this is one of the best values in online poker.
In addition to the big weekly tournaments, Absolute Poker also hosts a variety of small and medium sized tournaments that are affordable for any bankroll. Daily satellite tournaments even give players a chance to play in big tournaments at a fraction of the cost. There are all sorts of tournament types to choose from and you can find the full list of tournaments by visiting Absolute Poker, creating an account and logging in to the poker lobby.
Absolute Poker Software
The Absolute Poker software underwent a major upgrade a couple years ago and ever since then, the software has been among the best in the industry. The poker lobby loads quickly and it lists all the games and tournaments in an easy-to-follow format.
The graphics are simple but look nice. You won’t find a bunch of super realistic players seated at the table, but that’s just fine with me. There are several table views to choose from but I like the simplest one. It makes it easy to concentrate on playing poker because you can easily see what’s going on. A lot of extra clutter for the purposes of “graphics” is always more distracting than impressive.
At the tables, you’ll have plenty of options to control how you interact with the game. Four color decks are nice because they make it easy to distinguish between hearts/diamonds and clubs/spades. You can also choose your favorite seat at the table, which animations are shown, which hotkeys are active and much more.
Final Verdict
Absolute Poker is a solid all around poker site. It doesn’t have the same numbers of players as PokerStars but that is never a negative for me. I can always find plenty of tables running and I find the constant reload bonuses to be a major help in building the bankroll. If you haven’t already checked out Absolute Poker, I recommend you at least visit the site, sign up for an account and check out the play money tables. I think you’ll like what you see.
